About Porta
Porta is a prepared foods manufacturer specializing in premium frozen and refrigerated products.
The challenge
Porta was experiencing packaging limitations affecting their product quality throughout its shelf-life and was looking to reposition a stuffed pasta product for the refrigerated market. The company required support to improve packaging performance and optimize product formulation for new retail conditions.
Approach
- Reviewed primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging systems
- Evaluated packaging materials and formats to improve product protection and appearance
- Assessed shipping configurations and pallet patterns
- Conducted formulation and process testing to support refrigerated shelf-life
- Completed shelf-life studies to validate product performance
