Research Ethics Board
All proposals to conduct research involving human participants at or within Conestoga College are subject to a review and approval process through the Research Ethics Board (REB).
The REB is a volunteer committee of experienced researchers and subject matter experts who review all research protocols involving human participants and apply the principles of the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2): Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (2022).
Respect for persons, concern for welfare, and justice are essential principles guiding research at Conestoga. The REB aims to support applied research and classroom research activities in alignment with these principles.
Conducting research at Conestoga: internal researchers
Researchers at Conestoga seeking ethics approval from the REB should consult the REB page on the Researcher Portal. A Conestoga login is required to access the Researcher Portal.

Complete and submit the following required supporting documentation:
- Checklist for Review of Information Letter and Consent Form
- This form will help to ensure that you have included all the recruitment notices, consent forms, data collection forms, etc., that are required for your application.

- Tri-Council Policy Statement 2 (TCPS 2): Ethical Conduct of Research Involving Humans CORE-2022 certificate of completion
- Locally Responsible Investigator Form for External Investigators/Researchers

All materials must be submitted directly to the REB Coordinator. Communication with members of the REB regarding applications is forbidden.
