Mary-Jane Ducsharm

Professor and program coordinator

Mary-Jane is a professor of nursing and program coordinator at Conestoga in the practical nursing program. She has worked in a variety of post-secondary roles since starting at Conestoga in 2017.

Mary-Jane is a Registered Nurse and was a graduate of Conestoga's nursing program, and further obtained her B.Sc. in nursing from Laurentian University. Her MN was achieved through the University of Saskatchewan, where she is currently working towards her PhD.

Mary Jane's clinical background has primarily been surgical, intensive care, and emergency. She continues to work clinically in supporting current practice knowledge.

Mary-Jane's PhD research interests are focused on the undergraduate nursing students' experiences with anti-racist courses within Canadian nursing programs. She was awarded a WeRPN research grant to gather experiential knowledge gaps between academics and postgraduate nursing practice.
