Live freight lane optimization

In partnership with Karmax, a division of Magna International Inc., Conestoga participated in a multiphase project to create a real-time logistics visualization and prediction system for freight lane changes.  The project utilized data collection and value stream mapping (VSM) to inform the development of a prediction model and algorithms that utilizes data from multiple sources. These results allowed for the creation of a prototype software tool to visualize real-time active freight lanes to determine lane optimization, which in turn, notifies the user when intervention is recommended for lane optimization. This technology is crucial to ensuring freight lines aren’t interrupted by traffic and poor weather and provides visibility to logistics performance in real-time.
