Vortex created a novel architecture for a supercapacitor energy storage system in collaboration with Conestoga’s SMART Centre. C4C provided recommendation on positioning of the IP based on IP landscape analysis.

In many underprivileged villages and towns with no potable water networks, households rely on rooftop water tanks and must use costly electricity to heat water for domestic use. These communities, often abundant in sunshine with minimal cloud cover, represent an untapped opportunity for solar energy utilization. This project explores the affordability and practicality of solar-powered water heating for small residential homes in such areas. 

Navigating life in Canada as a new international student comes with a range of challenges. Recognizing that current resources often lack cohesion, this project investigates the communication dissemination strategies and tactics that reaches international students upon their arrival.

The project was developed in two phases to enhance system intelligence and usability. In the first phase, communication data is integrated into a centralized database, while an interface is established to connect the system with IT management tools, enabling real-time monitoring and greater visibility.  

The Canadian food and beverage manufacturing sector is becoming increasingly reliant on exports. This project aims to analyze how changes in the Canada-U.S. exchange rate affect net exports across different industry segments, providing valuable insights to businesses navigating currency fluctuations. 

In Canada’s medical clinics, managing the steady flow of incoming electronic documents is a significant, time-intensive task. Addressing these gaps, Spring Medical Corp. sought to develop a secure, open-source AI solution that could integrate seamlessly into OSCAR-based EMR systems.

Archronix sought to enhance the capabilities of its industrial control unit by developing advanced machine learning functionalities for automotive feature recognition. The existing control unit had the potential to integrate TensorFlow-driven image processing through third-party accelerators.

Eaton’s Milton facility faced a critical challenge in managing the manual loading and unloading of its paint line, especially with larger, heavier parts that presented safety risks for operators.

Crafty Ramen is a Guelph-based restaurant, noodle shop, and market. Founded in 2017 by Jared and Miki Ferrall, Crafty Ramen has expanded from a single restaurant location in Guelph to multiple locations around the Kitchener-Waterloo area, an e-commerce division, meal kit partnerships, and a selection of their ramen in major grocery stores.  

This project builds on a pilot study that explored students’ experiences and perceptions of peer review in a capstone course. The project will explore the impact of several new teaching strategies and learning activities to improve the peer review process in a capstone course.
