This interdisciplinary Experience Ventures opportunity allows you to take on a defined role within a collaborative team, working alongside innovative startups and social ventures. You will build practical skills, receive mentorship from venture leaders, and strengthen your portfolio while making a real impact.

Participant experiences
Playmove Canada
The Playmove project focused on introducing an innovative educational product into the Canadian market. Across two phases, students worked collaboratively in specialized roles such as marketing research, sales strategy, user experience, and web development to support market entry and adoption.
Phase one was completed by six students in winter 2025, followed by phase two with five additional students in winter 2026. Each student took on a defined role and responsibility, contributing to different aspects of the project.
Through this experience, the teams conducted research, developed insights, and created practical recommendations to support future program development, community engagement, and broader adoption within the education sector.
ConnectedKW
This project focused on supporting ConnectedKW, a digital platform designed to help Kitchener-Waterloo residents access curated events, local information, and community resources. Students worked collaboratively in roles such as software development, web development, marketing, and business development to enhance platform functionality and expand content offerings.
A team of four students contributed to developing new features, including user account functionality and enhancements to the local info section. Their work included building interactive map-based tools, curating relevant local content, and engaging with community partners.
Through this experience, students gained hands-on experience in technology, content strategy, and stakeholder engagement while contributing to a platform that supports community connection and accessibility.
